Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical Oncology unit requiring ONS/ONCC certification and at least one year of relevant nursing experience.

Details

• Surgical Oncology unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts per week (48 hours/week)
• Cares for surgical oncology patients with conditions ranging from simple to complex
• Administers medications, IV infusions, and blood products as prescribed
• Assists physicians with minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Delegates tasks to support staff as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• ONS/ONCC certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills required

Additional Information

• Provides direct nursing care to an assigned group of surgical oncology patients
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and communicates changes in physician orders
• Educates patients and families on care plans and discharge procedures
• Refers patient care needs to appropriate personnel as required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed
• Travelers must be booked at least 4 weeks from time of offer
• Returning travelers may only extend once for a maximum of 26 weeks, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
