Job Opportunity – Sterile Processing Technician – Albuquerque, NM 87102Start Date: August 3, 2026
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Schedule: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (12:00 PM - 8:30 PM). Call coverage required. 13-week assignment with 40 hours of orientation.
Highlights:- Work in a busy Operating Room environment with a daily census of 35 patients across 14 operating rooms
- Gain experience with diverse surgical specialties including orthopedics, neurosurgery, spine, robotics, ophthalmology, urology, general surgery, podiatry, GI lab, ENT, and GYN
- Utilize advanced sterile processing equipment including SPD instrument tracking systems, sterilization equipment, and decontamination equipment
- Work with adult and geriatric patient populations in a multi-floor sterile processing department
- Opportunity to enhance skills in scope reprocessing, high-level disinfection, and immediate-use steam sterilization
Requirements:- Minimum 2 years of Sterile Processing Technician experience preferred
- Previous travel healthcare experience required
- BLS certification required
- CBSPD certification preferred but not required
- New Mexico state license or Compact license (must be obtained prior to start date)
- Experience with Epic charting system preferred
- Community hospital experience required
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the location
- Proficiency in scope/probe reprocessing, steam sterilization, high-level disinfection, equipment documentation, and aseptic technique
