Job Title: Certified Surgical Tech / Surgical Tech (CST) Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech Duration: 59-day assignment Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 8 hours (15:00 - 23:00) Experience: Minimum 3 years in a Level 1 trauma center; 1 year in central processing License: Required Certifications: Central Service Technician cert; Certified Surgical Tech Course Completion; CBSPD, IAHCSMM/HSPA, or IAHCSMM preferred Must-Have: - High school diploma - Physical stamina for heavy lifting, pulling, and pushing of equipment - Knowledge of instruments, autoclaves, and gas sterilizers - Documentation of sterilization and equipment Description: This is a 59-day assignment working Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Level 1 trauma center. A high school diploma is required. Certification as a Central Service Technician is mandatory. Completion of a Certified Surgical Tech Course is preferred. On-the-job training experience is acceptable. A minimum of 1 year of experience in central processing is required. Knowledge of instruments, autoclaves, and gas sterilizers is essential. The role requires physical stamina for heavy lifting, pulling, and pushing of equipment. The job involves responsibilities such as cleaning equipment, high-level disinfection, proper selection of wrapping materials, and sterilization wrapping procedures. Experience in case cart assembly and equipment documentation is needed. Familiarity with various specialties such as Ear/Nose/Throat, General, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Plastics, and Urology is preferred. Knowledge of biological indicators, chemical indicators, and steam sterilization testing/monitoring is required. Experience with immediate-use steam sterilization is also essential. Candidates must adhere to vaccine requirements with possible exemptions.
