Key Responsibilities of the Certified Surgical Technician- Prepare patient skin for surgery following hospital standards
- Maintain aseptic techniques and monitor for potential breaches
- Provide comfort and support for pre-operative patients
- Transport patients to and from the Operating Room suite
- Prepare the Operating Room with necessary equipment
- Establish and maintain the sterile field during surgery
- Assist the surgical team with instruments and supplies
- Adhere to Universal Barrier Precautions
Requirements of the Certified Surgical Technician- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a Surgical Technology or accredited LVN/LPN program required
- 2 or more years of experience preferred
- BLS via AHA certification required
- Certified Surgical Technologist or LVN/LPN License required
