- Pay Rate:$1630 to $1770 Weekly
Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, surgical equipment, and necessary supplies before procedures
- Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures using proper aseptic techniques
- Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, sponges, and other surgical supplies during operations
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to promote efficient workflow and patient safety
- Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts before, during, and after surgery
- Prepare specialty equipment and surgical instruments for a variety of procedures
- Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and safe transfer before and after surgery
- Handle and properly label surgical specimens according to facility protocols
- Clean, restock, and prepare operating rooms between procedures
- Follow infection prevention, sterilization, and patient safety standards at all times
- Collaborate with surgeons, registered nurses, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff to deliver high-quality surgical care
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred or required by facility policy
- Minimum 2 years of recent Surgical Technologist experience
- Current BLS Certification required
- Experience assisting with general surgery and multiple surgical specialties preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and operating room procedures
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Ability to remain calm and efficient during routine and emergency surgical procedures
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Ability to stand for extended periods and actively participate throughout surgical procedures
