Travel Surgical Tech - $1,731 per week in San Luis Obispo, CA

Job Title: Surgical Tech Profession: Surgical Tech Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8H Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification, CST Must-Have: - 2 years of OR experience is required. - Travel experience is preferred. Description: Unit has 7 OR suites. The average number of cases per day is 15-20. Technicians and RNs must have BLS certification. Charting system used is Cerner Surginet. Charge nurse available, but not 24/7. Weekend call requirement for RNs and CSTs is one weekend per month. Call requirement for RNs and CSTs is one call night per week. Call response time is 30 minutes. Working holidays is required only in emergencies. Scrub colors are provided. Common types of cases include high volumes of orthopedic procedures, general, gynecological, pediatric, and ophthalmic surgeries. Travelers will not be assigned to cardiac cases, which include open heart surgeries and other specialized procedures. Scrubbing is required for all positions. Floating is not permitted. Floor specific orientation will be based on individual skill sets. Sterile processing technicians must have BLS certification and IAHCSMM certification. Equipment used includes autoclaves and various surgical devices. The facility reserves the right to cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment. Holidays worked may be required based on emergency needs. The position is focused on delivering high-quality patient care in an acute care setting.
