Job Title: Surgical Technician Profession: Surgical Tech Specialty: OR Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday-Friday Hours per Shift: 8.0 Experience: Must have at least two years of experience as a Surgical Technician and at least one year of travel experience. License: Passage of National Surgical Technician Certification Exam is preferred. Certifications: Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association is required. Must-Have: Prior experience in ortho, neuro/ortho spine, general/robotics, urology/gyn, and vascular procedures is required. Description: A caregiver provides surgical support under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse or Clinical Supervisor. The Surgical Technician provides the surgeon with instrumentation needs. He/she acts as a liaison between the physician, patient, and family while collaborating with other healthcare members. The Surgical Technician assists in the orientation process of new personnel. He/she is responsible for call coverage and attendance at team meetings. Assistance in general surgery as needed will be required. Participation in other interdisciplinary or departmental committees may be expected. The candidate must complete Net Learning modules within one week of receiving confirmation of acceptance. The Surgical Technician must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for all general procedures.
