Travel Surgical Tech - $1,780 per week in Kearney, NE

Job Title: Surgical Tech (OB Tech) Profession: Surgical Tech Specialty: OB Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:30 PM to 7:00 AM) Experience: Minimum 2 years License: CNA (preferred) and Scrub Tech License (preferred) Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Experience with c-sections, maintaining sterile techniques, and assisting in surgical procedures. Description: We are seeking candidates who possess both a CNA and Scrub Tech License. Candidates should be available on the unit for emergencies. They will be responsible for assisting with cesarean sections, vaginal deliveries, and circumcisions. Maintaining sterile techniques while draping the patient is essential. Candidates will prepare, pass, and maintain an accurate count of instruments, sutures, and supplies. Maintaining appropriate stock and equipment inventories in the department and patient rooms is required. Responding to patient calls and anticipating patient needs is crucial. Assuring patient safety and comfort through regular rounds and other safety measures is essential. Participation in unit meetings and continuing education programs is expected for personal growth. Candidates will assist in the orientation of new staff and participate in Quality Improvement activities. Recording vital signs and intake and output when requested is part of the role. Any changes observed in patients must be reported to the RN. Performing nursing procedures that do not require a licensed professional’s skill is part of the responsibilities. Clerical duties such as assembling charts and entering charges are required. Assisting with environmental maintenance duties as needed is expected. Performing point of care testing will be included in the duties. The unit follows AWHONN guidelines for staffing ratios. An OB/Neonatologist is available 24/7. Equipment used includes vents and CPAP. Monitoring of patients is centralized with RN oversight. Cancellations may occur, and the hospital can cancel shifts as necessary. The charting system used is EPIC. No specific degree is required to apply. All candidates should possess the required certifications listed above. Flexibility to work on weekends and holidays is necessary.
