Job Title: Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST) Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: OB/GYN Surgical Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 11.5 Experience: 1 year prior obstetrics/labor and delivery experience (preferred) License: New York license required Certifications: Certification as a Surgical Technologist by the Association of Surgical Technologists or Surgical Technician by the National Board of Surgical Technician and Surgical Assisting required. BLS required. Must-Have: High School Diploma or GED required. Knowledge of Perioperative Nursing Practice & Patient Care required. Description: This is a 13-week assignment. You will be required to have a minimum of 1 year of experience in obstetrics or labor and delivery. Knowledge of perioperative nursing practice and patient care is essential. You must possess certification as a surgical technologist or surgical technician. BLS certification is also a requirement. A high school diploma or GED is necessary for this position. The candidate should demonstrate skill in various surgical procedures including abdominal hysterectomy, C-sections, dilation & curettage, and more. Other skills include fire safety, aseptic technique, sterilization/disinfection, and universal protocol. Traveler compliance with submitted licensing and certifications is mandatory. Previous permanent employees must have been away for at least one year and cleared to be considered. Availability for interviews is required prior to consideration. Interviews will be conducted via video conference. The capacity to work as part of an interdisciplinary team is vital. This role requires adherence to safety protocols and efficient patient care practices. Participation in daily operations and the handling of equipment such as fiber optic instruments is expected.
