Job Title: Surgical Tech Profession: Surgical Tech Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Variable Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours (0645-1715) with call Experience: Minimum 2 years License: WA License required Certifications: BLS Certification required Must-Have: Must have orthopedic experience. Robotics experience is a plus. Description: Surgical Techs must have orthopedic experience. Robotics experience is a plus. A WA license is required at time of submission. The unit operates 9 rooms, utilizing 6 rooms for general procedures. There are 2 specialty rooms designated for cystoscopy and robotics. The average number of cases per day is 15 but may start with fewer and include add-ons. Certified Surgical Technologists must hold BLS certification and be certified through NBSTSA. There is a call requirement approximately one shift per weekday. For weekend call, there is a rotation among the staff. Typically, staff members are on call one weekend per month, potentially more. Call response time is expected to be within 30 minutes. Holiday coverage will rotate with permanent staff. Scrubbing is required but primarily for surgical technologists, not registered nurses. Common types of cases include 60% orthopedic and podiatry, along with general, gynecological, robotics, and spine procedures. The team is seeking individuals with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Cancellation policy allows for the hospital to cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. The charting system used is EPIC. A BSN is not required for this position.
