Job Title: OR Tech Profession: OR Tech Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Required - BLS Certifications: Preferred - Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Description: Facilitates operative or other invasive procedures by preparing and providing the required sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment. Maintains the sterile field and anticipates and responds to the needs of the surgical team. Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Functions as a scrub person during operative and other invasive procedures. Assembles supplies and equipment required for the procedure. Prepares and organizes sterile supplies and instruments for the procedure. Performs accounting procedures in conjunction with the RN circulator. Assists with the placement of sterile drapes. Provides instruments and supplies to the surgical team during the procedure. Maintains an organized sterile field. Ensures the sterility of the field and takes corrective actions as needed. Prepares sterile dressings. Cleans and prepares surgical instruments for processing and transports them to the decontamination areas. Assists with post-procedure cleaning of the operative room and preparation of the room for subsequent patients. Participates in ongoing educational and competency verification activities applicable to scrub person functions. Maintains privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information. Supports the mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures of the organization. Participates in required education as applicable to the position. May be floated to other departments where qualified to perform patient care. Performs other related duties as assigned.
