Job Title: Scrub Technician Profession: Technician Specialty: Scrub Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: N/A Certifications: NBSTSA-Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), BLS Must-Have: CVOR Scrub Tech Description: Provide safe care for patients following established standards and practices. Engage in constant interaction with internal and external customers, including patients, families, and healthcare team members. Assist in coordinating patient care and collaborate with other health team members. Participate in performance improvement activities. Support the surgical procedure but not act as a surgical assistant. Create and maintain asepsis during procedures. Perform scrubbing duties effectively. Communicate patient information to the appropriate persons. Account for all equipment and supplies used in patient care. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills by communicating with peers and other team members. Adapt to changes and support teamwork within the department. Resolve problems and meet customer service quality standards consistently. Act in the clinical preceptor role for scrubbing and collaborate with other educators. Maintain cleanliness and care of equipment in the unit. Be responsible for the use and care of equipment during surgical cases. Meet the physical demands of the position, including frequent standing and moving patients. Be prepared for exposure to blood, body fluids, and other conditions common in a healthcare environment. Work effectively under stressful conditions and meet deadlines. May be required to take calls or work weekends and holidays based on departmental needs. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks quickly in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
