Operating Room Surgical Technologist

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Shifts | Day/Evening/Night Rotation | 36 Hours per Week | Every 3rd Weekend as Needed | Every Other Holiday | On-Call: Once per Schedule
Key Responsibilities- Perform surgical technologist duties across a high-volume, 22-room operating room environment staffed 24/7
- Scrub and assist in a broad range of surgical specialties including general, gynecology, urology, oral, otolaryngology, bariatrics, orthopedics, neurosurgery, vascular, thoracic, cardiac, plastics, podiatry, robotics, pediatrics, trauma, and spine
- Respond to trauma cases in a Level 1 trauma center setting
- Maintain competency in at least 5 of the listed surgical service lines
- Float to other operating room campuses as needed
- Communicate effectively with surgical teams and demonstrate flexibility across shift rotations and service assignments
Required Qualifications- Minimum 3 years of inpatient surgical experience required
- Level 1 trauma experience required
- Active NBSTSA certification required (no other surgical tech certification accepted)
- Current BLS certification required
- Competency in a minimum of 5 surgical service lines listed above
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and excellent communication skills
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience in robotics-assisted surgical procedures
- Familiarity with high-acuity, fast-paced academic medical center environments
- Broad multi-specialty scrub experience across 6 or more service lines
