    Surgical Coordinator

    Key Responsibilities
    • Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures, pre-operative appointments, and follow-up visits while maintaining an accurate weekly surgical log.
    • Verify patient insurance and obtain pre-authorizations for all procedures and exams that require it.
    • Interact with patients, physicians, and staff both within the clinic and at outside facilities to provide accurate, timely, and responsive information.
    • Review department request forms for upcoming appointments to ensure completeness of clinical information, patient demographics, and required signatures.
    • Manage assigned scheduling work queues to meet established productivity, service, and volume goals while identifying and resolving scheduling barriers.
    • Assist with front desk coverage, incoming calls, add-on cases, emergency rescheduling, and distribution of procedure preparation materials to patients.
    Required Qualifications
    • High School Diploma or GED required; no prior experience required.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain positive working relationships.
    • Ability to read and write in English.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior experience with scheduling in a medical or clinical setting.
    • Knowledge of insurance and billing processes.
    • Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Meditech, Athena, or Epic.
