Certified Surgical Technologist - Labor & Delivery

Key Responsibilities- Function in the role of scrub person, working under the supervision of the surgeon and RN to ensure a safe OR environment and proper equipment function throughout operative procedures.
- Assure completion of case carts according to preference cards, recognizing and interpreting cards for the procurement of instruments and supplies.
- Communicate with operating room staff and sterile processing staff to coordinate instrumentation for scheduled and non-scheduled cases throughout the day.
- Review the daily schedule with the charge nurse and sterile processing day coordinator to identify potential turnover delays and scheduling issues.
- Serve as a resource for sterile processing and surgical services departments for procurement of necessary supplies and instrumentation for surgical procedures.
- Communicate and coordinate with materials management regarding supply utilization and deployment.
Required Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program, or equivalent military surgical technologist program.
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Ability to work varied and rotating shifts, including weekends, after-hours, and on-call as needed.
Preferred Experience / Skills- Minimum of 1 year of surgical technologist experience in an acute care operating room setting.
- Strong emotional intelligence, interpersonal, and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively in a busy and stressful environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
