Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM | Holiday rotation required | Up to 1 weekend shift per 4-week schedule period | Up to 4 on-call shifts per 4-week schedule period
Key Responsibilities
Scrub and assist across a full range of surgical specialties including Ortho (total joints, spine, trauma), Neuro (craniotomy, spine), ENT (flaps), Robotics, Transplants/Procurements, Trauma/Burns, and GU/GYN
Operate within a high-volume, 21-suite main operating room at a Level I academic trauma center
Float within scope of practice to meet facility needs, including coverage across like units or sister facilities as required
Utilize EPIC for clinical charting and documentation
Wear a radiation badge (must be provided by placing agency) in applicable surgical environments
Participate in emergency response team assignments during hurricane season (June–November) per facility policy
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist
NBSTSA certification required (NCCT is not accepted)
BLS certification required
Level I trauma experience required
Radiation badge required — must be supplied by the placing agency
Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be prioritized; local candidates within 60 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with Neuro cases including spines and craniotomies
Experience with ENT flap procedures
Proficiency with Robotic-assisted surgery, specifically the Da Vinci Xi system
