Surgical Technologist – Operating Room (CST)
LocationCharleston, SC
Schedule / Job TypeContract | Days | 3x12-hour shifts (10:30 AM – 11:00 PM) | Rotating weekends | On-call required (up to 2 call shifts per month)
Key Responsibilities- Scrub and assist in a wide variety of surgical cases including Ortho (total joints, spine, trauma), Neuro (craniotomy, spine), ENT (flaps), Robotics, Transplants/Procurements, Trauma/Burns, and GU/GYN
- Operate within a Level I Trauma Center environment across 21 OR suites covering all surgical specialtiesFloat within scope to support facility needs across like units as required
- Participate in rotating weekend and on-call schedules, including 7a–7p or 7p–7a Saturday or Sunday shifts
- Document and chart using EPIC electronic health record system
- Adhere to emergency response protocols, including potential assignment to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)
Required Qualifications- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist
- Active NBSTSA certification required (NCCT not accepted)
- Current BLS certification required
- Level I trauma experience required
- Radiation badge required (must be provided by agency)
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience with Neuro cases including spines and craniotomies
- Experience with ENT flap procedures
- Robotic surgery experience, specifically with the Da Vinci Xi system
