Key Responsibilities
- Maintain operative care standards in accordance with AORN guidelines
- Stock rooms, clean equipment, and prepare supplies based on surgeon and anesthesia requirements
- Assist with patient positioning, surgical hand scrubs, instrument counts, and Time Out procedures
- Identify and address safety hazards while adhering to universal precautions and infection control protocols
- Organize tasks to meet patient and unit needs, adapting to changes and maintaining current knowledge of education and policies
Required Qualifications
- Current Surgical Technologist certification (CST) required
- Knowledge of and ability to apply AORN operative care standards
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 40 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods as required by the role
- Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience practicing at full scope within a surgical technologist role
- Familiarity with shared governance environments and contribution to program development or care planning
