Key Responsibilities- Scrub and assist in a high-volume Level I Trauma operating room environment serving a diverse patient population including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, and geriatrics
- Support surgical procedures across multiple specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, plastics, gynecology, oncology, ENT, ophthalmology, pediatrics, and sports medicine
- Operate and assist with advanced surgical equipment including robotic platforms and specialized intraoperative technology
- Maintain sterile field and ensure proper instrumentation throughout all surgical procedures
- Adhere to facility scheduling requirements including holiday coverage obligations (minimum one holiday per 13-week contract)
Required Qualifications- Active BLS certification required
- Current NBSTSA, NCCT, or military OR Tech certification required
- Active Virginia state surgical technologist license required; out-of-state candidates must obtain VA licensure prior to or during assignment (90-day authorization accepted while VA license is pending)
- Demonstrated proficiency in general surgery, orthopedics (including total joints), and neurosurgery — all three specialties required
- Travel candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (calculated from address on Driver's License); local candidates are not accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience with complex procedures including large abdominal cases, craniotomies, and orthopedic trauma
- Robotic surgical experience, including familiarity with da Vinci Si/Xi platforms, ROSA, Stealth, O-Arm, or HIPEC systems
- Prior travel assignment experience preferred, though first-time travelers will be considered
