Participate in the care of the perioperative patient through maintenance of the sterile field, obtaining needed supplies and equipment, and upholding patient safety standards
Assist the surgeon during operative and invasive cardiovascular procedures throughout the intraoperative period
Ensure the operating suite is adequately prepared prior to each procedure
Monitor PAR levels of all surgical instruments and supplies
Clean and sterilize surgical instruments in accordance with facility standards
Participate in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities; on-call availability required as needed by the facility
Required Qualifications
Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program, LPN program, or comparable job-related education
BLS certification required
Minimum 2 years of surgical technologist experience
Work within a high-acuity facility recognized for excellence, including a Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade "A," CMS 5-Star Rating, and designation as a Level 3 Trauma Center
