Surgical Scrub Technician

Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care and unit support activities within the operating room suite
- Demonstrate knowledge of surgical procedures by anticipating needs prior to and during each case, including assisting with dressings and cast application at the end of procedures
- Pick cases following physician preference cards and update surgeon preference cards per established processes
- Perform and document accurate surgical counts, including instruments, towel clips, and related items, ensuring all counts are signed before the patient leaves the room
- Identify problems and take appropriate action independently to accomplish department objectives and improve quality of care
- Comply with all regulatory requirements, count policies, safety procedures, and mandatory training within established timeframes
Required Qualifications- Minimum of three years of experience as a scrub person in a hospital setting
- Travel experience required
- BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in orthopedic, neuro, and robotic surgical procedures required
Preferred Experience / Skills- Completion of an approved program for Operating Room Technicians or demonstrated technical skills through on-the-job training
- Scrub Technician certification preferred
