Surgical Technologist – Ambulatory Surgery Center

Key Responsibilities
Prepare the surgical suite, supplies, and equipment in accordance with environmental safety and infection control standards prior to each procedure
Open and arrange sterile supplies aseptically, maintain the integrity of the sterile field throughout all operative procedures, and identify and report any breaks in aseptic technique
Assist surgeons during operative procedures by anticipating instrument needs, passing instruments, and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis
Support patient preparation, transfers, positioning, and counting procedures in collaboration with the registered nurse
Participate in the time-out process, monitor for unsafe conditions, and complete incident documentation in a timely manner
Assist with room turnover, cleanup, inventory management, and new employee orientation and training
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program required
Minimum of one year of related clinical experience including surgical scrub experience in an ambulatory surgery setting
Ophthalmology surgical scrub experience required
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
