Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Days | Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM | Weekend and On-Call Requirements Apply
Key Responsibilities
Establishes and maintains the sterile field; passes instruments and sutures to the physician and assists as directed during surgical procedures
Prepares the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to the type of case, using physician preference cards as a guide and keeping them current
Prepares patient skin for surgery, positions patients according to procedure type, and transports patients to and from the OR suite
Monitors and controls the surgical environment including traffic control, dress codes, and OR sanitation policies; adheres to Universal Barrier Precautions at all times
Identifies and cares for biological specimens in accordance with facility policy
Demonstrates clinical expertise in the use and care of surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment; familiar with decontamination, processing, and sterilization procedures
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or accredited LVN/LPN program required
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential or active LVN/LPN license required
BLS certification via American Heart Association (AHA) required
Must be available for weekend and on-call assignments
Must be willing to float to additional locations as required
Preferred Experience / Skills
2 or more years of surgical technologist experience preferred
Proficiency scrubbing in 3 or more specialty areas such as Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, Titanium Rib, or Robotics highly preferred
Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
