The position offers varied shifts and responsibilities tailored to meet the needs of the facility.
Job Details:
Position: Operating Room Open Heart Nurse
Schedule: 10-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week, with potential for weekday, weekend, and holiday call. Shift times are flexible, with possible block scheduling options.
Required Qualifications: Valid Washington State license; BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications; minimum of 2 years of experience as a surgical nurse in an operating room setting; experience with cardiac, vascular, or thoracic cases preferred but not required; scrub experience preferred but not mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications: Robotics experience (training available if needed); experience with electronic medical records, specifically EPIC.
Call Requirements: RN's are expected to be on call 6-8 shifts per month, with shifts starting at 9 PM and ending at 6:30 AM; call response time is 30 minutes; weekend call is structured into 12-hour days, 12-hour nights, and 24-hour backup rotations. Holidays are covered by rotation.
Additional Information: The role involves working in a resource-sharing environment with opportunities for floating to other units as needed, including Main OR and vascular cases. Some cases utilize robotic assistance, with training available for those without prior robotics experience. The hospital allows flexible scheduling, including 4/10s or 5/8s shifts, and provides orientation for floor-specific procedures. Housing options may be limited and will be coordinated with block scheduling. The facility operates a tele-surgery team on call after hours, with a 24/7 RT and pharmacy support.
