Location: Akron, OH

Pay: $1398.40 weekly

Shifts: Evening Shift: 3p-11:30p Monday through Friday, and every third weekend

This role involves providing clean and sterile supplies through decontamination, preparation, and sterilization of surgical instruments. The ideal candidate will thrive in a clinical environment under the direction of a Unit Manager/Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities of the Sterile Processing Technician

• Inspect, test, clean, decontaminate, and sterilize instruments/equipment to ensure they are in good working order and available 24/7
• Identify and assemble surgical instrumentation using count sheets and prepare for sterilization
• Perform biological and chemical monitoring of sterilizers daily and maintain sterilization records
• Operate washers, sterilizers, and high-level disinfection equipment
• Handle flexible endoscope decontamination and high-level disinfection or sterilization
• Receive and track loaner and borrowed instrumentation and respond to locational requests

Requirements of the Sterile Processing Technician

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current HSPA or CBSP Certification
• 2+ years of recent relevant experience
• Ability to lift 20-50 pounds occasionally, and/or frequent lifting of 10-25 pounds
