Key Responsibilities of the Histology Technician- Receiving specimens from surgery and accessioning them into Cerner
- Collection of blocks from PA staff
- Processing tissue and embedding
- Cutting and staining of slides
Requirements of the Histology Technician- A minimum of 2 years of experience within the specialty
- ASCP (HT/HLT) certification
- Successful completion of a formal histology technologist training program or an Associate's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences
