Key Responsibilities of the Pharmacy Technician

Receives and stocks deliveries of pharmaceuticals and other supplies.
Prepares, packages, and labels medications prior to dispensing.
Delivers medications to care areas within the hospital and off-site locations.
Manages pharmacy inventory and electronic inventory systems.
Monitors product expirations and removes outdated stock.
Responds to product recalls and compounds medication preparations.
Cleans and disinfects areas and performs clerical duties.
Trains and mentors new pharmacy technicians and interns.

Requirements of the Pharmacy Technician

PA license ONLY
Certified Pharmacy Technician or Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician
Minimum of 2 years experience
EPIC and Pyxis experience required
