Description:
The Athletic Trainer position provides medical care to active individuals of all ages in various settings.
The role includes injury prevention, injury rehabilitation, and emergency and concussion care.
Responsibilities include covering athletic events and after-school activities.
The position involves prevention, evaluation, and management/rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
Duties include collecting histories, performing physical evaluations, diagnosing injuries, and determining a plan of action.
Communication of findings and the plan of action with athletes, parents, and coaches is required.
Concussion management includes assessing and diagnosing concussions and managing symptom monitoring.
Documenting treatments and evaluations is essential.
The position involves analyzing the root causes of injuries to prevent future occurrences.
Additional responsibilities include occupational health and rehabilitation services, performing functional progress assessments and job-specific conditioning programs.
Coordination of schedules for coverage of events is required.
Working as a physician extender in the orthopedic clinic includes taking histories and scheduling surgeries.
Performs other related duties as needed.
