Key Responsibilities of the Pharmacy Technician- Selects, labels, and processes all medication requests including requests for floor stock, ensuring verification by a pharmacist.
- Under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, compounds preparations and completes required documentation.
- Prepares and delivers IVPBs, large volume IV solutions, and other pharmaceutical preparations following aseptic techniques.
- Operates and documents the use of the unit dose machine.
- Fills prescriptions in accordance with State and Federal laws, handling all associated paperwork and billing.
- Generates and fills automated dispensing machine re-stock lists.
- Handles Controlled Substances appropriately, ensuring correct dispensing processes.
- Receives and stocks returned medications, maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Participates in departmental performance improvement activities as needed.
- Maintains all quality control logs and fulfills other assigned duties as required.
Requirements of the Pharmacy Technician- Valid CA Pharmacy Tech License.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
