This position is for the day shift, from 07:00 AM to 07:00 PM.

Job Description

The competent Nurse in a clinical setting practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. This role includes providing routine and complex care while maintaining the ability to manage long-range goals or plans. The nurse continues to develop skills in coping with and managing clinical contingencies, making appropriate assignments and delegations to other care providers as needed.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable One CHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to the nurse's level of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments according to appropriate protocols and monitors for side effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• One year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.
• Current BLS certification required (AHA only).
• Current ACLS certification required (AHA only).
• Current RN License in the state of Texas or compact.
