Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Acute Telemetry position in Alexandria, LA, requiring AHA BLS and ACLS certifications and experience with cardiac patients including MI, CHF, and arrhythmias.
Details
- Acute Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes MI, CHF, arrhythmias, PVD, and med/surg overflow
- Unit manages cardiac drips (not nitrates)
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1–6:1 depending on staffing
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required when needed
- No on-call responsibilities
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license in Louisiana or a Compact state currently in hand
- BLS certification from AHA required
- ACLS certification from AHA required
- 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred
- BSN preferred
Additional Information
- Ceil blue scrubs required
- Provides nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
- Educates patients, family members, and caregivers and identifies resources to address care needs
- New hires attend orientation within the first 30 days and are precepted by a designated trained staff member
- Candidates who have previously worked at any CHRISTUS Health facility in a non-travel capacity must have been separated for at least 6 months before being considered
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
- Temp-to-perm conversion is a possibility
