Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Tele RN for a night shift position requiring Med Surg Tele and Meditech experience.

Details

• Med Surg/Tele unit within a hospital setting
• 36-bed unit staffed with a mix of RNs, LPNs, techs, and a charge nurse
• Patient ratio of 6 to 1
• Uses EKG machines, DynaMaps, bladder scanners, vein finders, and telemetry monitoring
• Meditech EMR used
• Heart catheterization procedures performed on the unit
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend or two full weekends per month required
• Floating required to all Med Surg Tele floors

Requirements

• Active RN license (LA state or compact)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required prior to consideration
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg/Tele experience required
• Meditech EMR experience required
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy Med Surg/Tele unit including cardiac monitoring
• Team includes charge nurses, RNs, LPNs, and patient care techs on both day and night shifts
• Ceil blue scrub color required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, with no local candidates accepted
• Candidates should demonstrate strong time management and critical thinking skills
• A positive, friendly, and helpful attitude is valued on this unit
