Job Summary
Telemetry Medical Surgical Float Nurse in Centennial, Colorado. This role involves providing advanced patient care within a dynamic telemtry and medical-surgical unit at multiple facilities near Denver. The position requires flexibility to float within Zone 3, which encompasses several hospitals in the Denver metropolitan area, ensuring coverage across various units and patient populations.

Job Details

• Shift Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 48 hours per week. Schedules are released 4 to 6 weeks in advance following one of two formats: Option A being scheduled at a single facility for the week with potential to float within that facility, or Option B just-in-time assignment 1 to 2 hours before shift start via call.
• Required Qualifications: Valid licensure to submit, minimum of 2 years of telemetry medical surgical float experience, with a preference for prior neuro experience, and current certifications including BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale).
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in adult patient populations with a variety of diagnoses such as cardiac, neuro, oncology, renal, and more.
• Float: Float rotation may be required across facilities within Zone 3, which includes locations around Denver, Longmont, and Westminster, Colorado.
• Additional Job Information:
  • No home base facility; candidates must reside at least 60 miles from all assigned facilities.
  • Candidates are expected to obtain housing that makes floating feasible within the designated zone.
  • Equipment such as vents, Cpap, and BiPap are available as needed.
  • Nurses may be asked to float into other acuity levels, including ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and medical-surgical tele units, with orientation provided.
  • Unit/Department orientation lasts 1-2 days with a preceptor.
  • A number of weekend shifts (6-9) are required within the 6-week schedule, with occasional holiday rotation.
  • The position may involve occasional call or standby for low census events.
  • The charting system in use is EPIC.
  • The facility does not have a trauma level designation.
