Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Intermediate Care/Telemetry position requiring cardiac telemetry, oncology, and ventilator/transplant experience at a Level I trauma teaching hospital.
Details
- IMC unit supporting Cardiac Telemetry, Oncology Telemetry, and PCU/DOU/Stepdown patient populations
- Also supports the Thoracic Surgery unit
- Day/evening shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00am-7:30pm
- Monday through Friday schedule with every other weekend and some holidays required
- Open to 4x12 schedules and block weekend scheduling (Fri-Sun)
- Uses Epic charting system
- Floating required as needed
Requirements
- Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
- Academic Level I or II trauma center or similar size hospital experience required
- Trauma Level I and Level II experience required
- Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
- Ventilator management and post-transplant care experience required
- Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, chest tube management, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, tracheostomy care, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and wound care/wound vac
- Must pass a facility telemetry exam prior to starting, including strict identification of lethal rhythms and heart block criteria
Additional Information
- Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response/code team support
- Care for patients requiring ventilator management and post-transplant recovery
- Located at a Magnet-designated, top-ranked academic teaching hospital in Wisconsin
- Must live within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Two attempts allowed to pass the required telemetry exam, with a review course required before a third attempt if needed
- Holiday coverage required for select holidays
