Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN - Telemetry for a Days shift acute telemetry role requiring BLS, ACLS, and a LA or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Cares for patients with MI, CHF, arrhythmias, PVD, and some med-surg overflow cases
• Manages cardiac drips (titration not required)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 5:1, occasionally 6:1
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 13-week assignment length
• Weekend requirement of 3 weekends within a 6-week schedule
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required when needed
• Ceil blue scrub color required

Requirements

• Active RN license (LA state license or compact) required
• Current BLS certification from AHA required
• Current ACLS certification from AHA required
• BSN preferred
• 1 year of experience in telemetry or related nursing specialty preferred

• Provides nursing care using the full nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administers medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, families, and caregivers
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and complete organizational and unit-specific competency validations
• Temp-to-perm opportunity possible
• Returning employees who previously worked at any facility within the health system must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a new travel assignment
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate eligibility
