Job Summary Telemetered (Telemetry) Nurse in a healthcare facility. This position involves providing specialized nursing care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring on the night shift. The role requires flexibility to float across multiple units within the organization.
Job Details
Location: Telemetry department at a healthcare facility
Shift Time: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS
Education and Experience Requirements: At least 2 years of nursing experience
Float: Float rotation may be required
Responsibilities include managing patients with diagnoses such as CHF, cardiac catherization, chest pain, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, orthopedic, and oncology cases (with chemo administration)
The charge nurse supervises the unit, but nurses may take patient assignments during night shifts
RNs work with CNAs, who assist with various patient care duties including blood sugar management
RTs handle respiratory equipment such as CPAP & BiPap; nurses manage other respiratory treatments
Telemetry monitors from Phillips are used; nurses interpret strips and may work with monitor techs if available
Staff work weekend rotations every other week and participate in holiday rotations, including holiday scheduling with the permanent team
The unit utilizes EPIC for charting and requires current licensure; BSN is not mandatory
Orientation includes 1-2 shifts with a preceptor
Start Date: 10/26/2026, End Date: 01/25/2027
