Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) Reno, NV. This position involves providing specialized patient care in a fast-paced, Level II Trauma Center setting, serving a diverse patient population with complex medical needs. The role requires a dedicated professional with experience in telemetry to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care throughout their hospital stay.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: NV RN license required prior to start; BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS (APEX); Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience; must pass a telemetry competency exam including rhythm strip identification and measurement
- Unit Description: 38-bed telemetry unit staffed with RNs, CNAs, Critical Care Technicians, and Advanced Care Technicians. Patient ratios typically range from 1:4 to 1:6 based on acuity and workload. Ancillary staff include Rapid Response Team, phlebotomists, EKG technicians, and Respiratory Therapists. Patient conditions include CHF, Alcohol Withdrawal, NSTEMI's, sepsis, dysrhythmias, PNA, COPD, Covid, post-procedure care (pacemakers, ablations, cath lab), and OHS patients once downgraded from ICU. Medications include non-titratable cardiac drips like Cardizem, Lasix, Nitro. Potential to float to ICU and other medical-surgical units as needed.
- Additional Information: Travelers may be required to float within their competency levels. Flexibility to work major holidays and an additional shift every 4 weeks is needed. Schedule varies according to department needs and can include weekends and holidays. Renown Regional Medical Center is a busy Level 2 trauma center serving an 800-bed hospital with extensive services.
