Job Details

• Position Description:
  • Provide telemetry nursing care for cardiac patients, including those with arrhythmias, post-CABG, and other cardiovascular conditions.
  • Float between Bryan Campus and College Station Campus as needed.
  • Must have EPIC experience and pass the Basic Dysrhythmia exam (3 attempts allowed).
  • Be willing to precept and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Shift Schedule: Nights, 12 hours, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale).
  • Education: RN license with at least 2 years of experience preferred; 1-year experience acceptable if confident.
  • Location: Bryan and College Station, Texas.
  • Experience: Minimum 0 years required.
• Additional Information:
  • Candidates must be able to read and interpret strips independently.
  • Experience with titratable and set rate drips such as Cardizem, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, Dopamine.
  • RNs required to read and interpret their own telemetry strips.
  • Unit includes Telemetry, Tele-Observation, and Tele-Neuro Stroke beds with a Nurse:Patient ratio of 1:4-5.
  • Expect to float within monitor units and occasionally to higher acuity floors.
  • The unit operates on a Joint Commission stroke and heart attack center model with intervention capabilities.
  • Must pass a Basic Dysrhythmia exam and have knowledge of ECG interpretation.
  • No required experience for RN, but 2+ years preferred.
