Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a MS/Tele unit requiring TX or compact RN license and prior telemetry nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit of a hospital environment
• 36-bed unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Uses Epic charting system
• Float required to units of equal acuity

Requirements

• Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central/PICC/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry remote monitoring
• Experience managing respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with feeding tube care and heparin protocols

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to a cardiac, neurological, and general medical-surgical patient population, including CVA and spinal cord injury cases
• Support rapid response and code teams as needed
• Manage cardiac drips without titration and administer PCA as required
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties will not be contracted
• Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
