Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a 13-week assignment requiring 2 years of telemetry experience and prior travel experience.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a 36-bed hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Uses Epic charting system
• Float required to units of equal acuity

Requirements

• Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience managing renal failure and pre/post hemodialysis patients

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry nursing care to cardiac, neurological, and post-surgical patient populations
• Participate in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including use of rapid response/code teams
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties will not be accepted
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles are not accepted
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be listed at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none permitted during the first week of orientation
• Onboarding requires completion of core items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing, with additional orientation modules completed onsite
