Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift hospital assignment requiring 2 years of telemetry experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Hospital telemetry unit setting with adult to geriatric patient population
  • Common diagnoses include CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues
  • Patient ratio of 1:4-5 on a 36-bed unit with an average daily census of 35
  • Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
  • Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
  • Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • No on-call requirements

Requirements

  • Active GA or Compact RN license required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required, NIHSS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry nursing experience required
  • Experience with 1:4-5 patient ratios
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
  • Experience with respiratory care including oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management
  • Preferred experience with insulin drip titration, wound care, and pre/post cardiac cath or surgery care

Additional Information

  • Provide telemetry-level nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac and related diagnoses
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract, all RTO must be finalized prior to submission
  • No RTO can be requested during Spring Break blackout dates (April 4th-12th)
  • Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment: one holiday worked if 1-2 fall during the contract, two holidays worked if 3 fall during the contract
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
  • Clinical screening required to determine fit prior to manager review
