Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a PCU/Telemetry position requiring an active PA or Compact license and at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Details

  • Hospital-based PCU/Telemetry unit
  • 13-week assignment
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM), with openness to 4x12 schedules
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius as needed
  • Every other holiday coverage required
  • Charting system experience required (any EMR)

Requirements

  • Active RN license (PA or Compact) required
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry (on-unit and remote) required
  • Skills in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration required
  • Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube management, and ABG interpretation required
  • Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) required
  • Two supervisor references preferred
  • SSN, DOB, and RTO required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients requiring telemetry and step-down level monitoring
  • Support includes access to rapid response and code teams for emergent situations
  • Manage patients with cardiovascular, neurological, renal, and gastrointestinal conditions
  • Perform wound care, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols as needed
  • Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
  • Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
  • Travel pairs may be accommodated based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
  • Fingerprinting, drug screening, and required labs must be completed shortly after signing
  • All compliance requirements must be cleared prior to start date
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
