Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license required; compact license must be in hand at submission
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant acute care nursing experience required
• Telemetry nursing experience required
• Neuro experience preferred, including comfort with post-surgical neurology patients and varied neurological diagnoses
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Ability to manage an average 1:4 patient ratio
• Comfortable working in a high-acuity hospital environment
• Willingness to work every other weekend and float when needed

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to telemetry and neurology patients in an acute care setting
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, identify dysrhythmias, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Care for post-surgical neurology patients and patients with complex neurological diagnoses
• Complete routine assessments, document accurately in Epic, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Perform and interpret the NIH Stroke Scale and support stroke-focused patient care
• Manage common neuro/tele needs such as BiPAP/CPAP support, chest tube care, and pre-/post-neurosurgery monitoring as applicable
• Support safe patient transitions and coordinate care with other hospital services
• Float to nearby units or sister facilities when needed to meet patient care demands
