Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry/Medical-Surgical Night Shift | Salem, MA

Join a collaborative inpatient nursing team as a Telemetry/Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) in Salem, Massachusetts. This 13-week travel nursing assignment offers the opportunity to care for orthopedic, neurological, fracture, and medical overflow patients in a 32-bed unit while using your telemetry interpretation and neurological assessment skills. Located on Massachusetts’ scenic North Shore, Salem offers a vibrant coastal setting with historic charm, walkable neighborhoods, and convenient access to the greater Boston area.

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910-$2,010
• Location: Salem, Massachusetts
• Assignment: 13-week travel Registered Nurse assignment
• Start Date: November 1, 2026
• End Date: January 30, 2027
• Schedule: Night shifts, 7:00 p.m.-7:30 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week, typically three 12-hour shifts
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Unit: 32-bed orthopedic, neurological, medical-surgical, and medical overflow unit
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:5-6 on nights
• Charting: Electronic medical record experience required; Epic experience preferred

Travel Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience in one clinical location
• At least 2 years of travel nursing experience
• Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification
• Strong medical-surgical nursing experience with telemetry competency
• Ability to accurately interpret telemetry strips and recognize dysrhythmias
• Proficiency with focused and comprehensive neurological assessments
• Ability to care for orthopedic, neurological, fracture, and medical overflow patients
• Flexibility to float to applicable inpatient units when needed
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification preferred

Telemetry and Medical-Surgical RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to orthopedic, neurological, fracture, and medical-surgical patients
• Monitor telemetry patients and accurately interpret cardiac rhythm strips
• Perform focused and comprehensive neurological assessments
• Assess patient conditions, identify changes in status, and communicate concerns promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with established standards
• Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, support staff, patients, and families
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record
• Promote patient safety, comfort, education, and timely discharge planning
• Float to appropriate inpatient units as requested and support team-based patient care
