Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a MedSurg/Cardiac unit requiring at least 1 year of experience and MI licensure.

Details

• Work on a MedSurg/Cardiac Telemetry floor
• Patient population includes cardiac, CVA, seizure disorder, and substance withdrawal cases
• Typical patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Uses Cerner Powerchart for charting
• Floating required based on facility census and staffing needs

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry/MedSurg cardiac nursing experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Experience with non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for cardiac and neurological/psychiatric patients on a telemetry unit
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
• Maximum of 10 days RTO permitted, with holiday RTO requests requiring willingness to work one of the three major holidays
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least three years before returning as a traveler
• Required to complete onboarding modules within the first week of assignment
• Facility maintains strict professional conduct standards regarding attendance and behavior
