Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Medical Telemetry RN for a 36-hour rotating shift position requiring active MA licensure and the ability to read tele strips.

Details

• 37-bed Medical Telemetry unit accepting admissions from the ED, transfers, and direct physician admissions
• Patients frequently on Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Heparin drips
• Cares for NSTEMI, post-pacemaker, and post-cardiac cath lab patients (with and without interventions)
• Primary diagnoses include CHF, Atrial Fibrillation, Pulmonary Embolism, and Pneumonia, along with EtOH and Dementia with cardiac co-morbidities, plus occasional surgical patients
• RN to patient ratio is 1:4 (max 5) on Day/Evening shifts and 1:5-6 on Nights
• Charge RN covers weekday day shifts without a patient assignment
• 36 hours per week, Day/Evening/Night rotation (7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a) with every other weekend required
• Night shift positions do not rotate
• Floating required to applicable units as needed
• Uses EPIC EMR

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required (NURSYS and BON verification required, conditional licenses not accepted)
• AHA BLS and ACLS certification required
• Telemetry certification required
• Minimum of 2 years experience in one location and 2 years experience as a traveler required
• Must be able to interpret telemetry strips and have knowledge of cardiac drips
• Experience with post-cardiac catheterization and pacemaker patient care preferred but not required
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions

• Provide medical-surgical telemetry nursing care across a range of cardiac and medical diagnoses
• Local candidates accepted if residing within 60 miles of Boston, at a reduced rate
• Free on-site parking is not available in Boston, though public transportation and paid parking lots are accessible nearby
