Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Telemetry/Medical Oncology unit requiring 2 years of experience and strong telemetry or MedSurg skills.

Details

• Work on the 10 South Medical Oncology unit, which is oncology-focused but also cares for a high volume of telemetry patients
• Responsible for management of cardiac drips and rhythm monitoring
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Required to work every other holiday
• Uses Cerner charting system
• May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals depending on volume or census

Requirements

• Active RN license (IN or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Strong telemetry experience preferred; candidates without telemetry experience must have strong MedSurg experience and skill set
• Cerner charting experience required
• Must pass a medication administration and EKG test
• Skills should include cardiac drip management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and on-unit telemetry monitoring
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, PICC line management, and cardiac drip titration preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to a patient population that includes both medical oncology and telemetry cases
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Maximum RTO allowed is 10 days; if RTO falls during the holidays, must be willing to work at least one of the three holidays
• Must have been separated from the facility for at least 3 years to be eligible for a return assignment as a traveler
• Scrub color requirement: Royal Blue top with White or Royal Blue bottom
