Description

American Traveler is hiring a Tele RN for a night shift position requiring at least 1 year of inpatient telemetry experience and NIHSS certification.

Details

• Work on a 30-bed Medical Telemetry unit treating med/tele and cardiac overflow patients
• Patient ratios vary by shift: days 1:5-1:6, nights 1:6-1:7 (not guaranteed)
• Uses telemetry monitors, lift equipment, IV pumps, and tube feeding pumps
• Documents in EPIC EMR
• Night shift schedule, 1900-0700
• Weekend hours required as needed by facility
• Rotational floating required
• No call requirements
• Night shift staff orient on day shift and must be available the entire orientation week

Requirements

• Active RN license eligible for or currently licensed in Missouri (compact accepted)
• BLS certification from AHA required
• NIHSS certification required (may start without but must obtain prior to start)
• Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient telemetry experience required
• Experience and competence in drug titration required
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across all age groups
• Coordinate care with ancillary departments and other direct care givers
• Physical demands include standing/walking most of shift, lifting/turning patients with assistance, pushing/pulling/gripping up to 50 lbs, and occasional kneeling, crouching, and crawling
• High risk exposure to blood and body fluids
• Black scrub color required
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1, with no declinations accepted
• RTO up to 5 days allowed but must be made up during the assignment; no RTO approved in the first week
• Only 1 holiday RTO request allowed per assignment
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Local candidates accepted, though local bill rates are reduced
• Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the radius
