Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry/Step-Down position requiring 2 years of telemetry experience and MO or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital that is a Level I Trauma Center
• Cardiac telemetry and step-down patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Day shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within service line
• Uses Epic charting system
• Utilizes EKG monitoring and cardiac drip management

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required (pending IL license accepted for IL submissions)
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required
• EKG interpretation and cardiac drip management skills required
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and step-down level nursing care
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips, IV therapy, central and peripheral lines, and respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP and high flow nasal cannula
• Navy blue scrubs required
• No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
• Must reside outside of a 75-mile radius as local candidates are not accepted
• Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period, followed by a required 3-month break in service
• Former permanent employees of BJC or Saint Luke's must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
