Description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring 2 years of telemetry/step-down experience and ACLS certification.
Details
- Telemetry/step-down unit in a short-term acute care, Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital
- Patient ratios of 1:4-5
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within service line to meet facility needs
- Uses Epic charting system
- Utilizes EKG monitoring and cardiac drip management
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required (compact must match permanent residence)
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required (dedicated PCU experience not required)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- EKG and cardiac drip management experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Skills required include IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, blood product administration, respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC), wound care, and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia management
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry-level cardiac monitoring and care including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) along with thrombolytic agents and heparin protocols
- Care for patients with renal, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, and endocrine/metabolic needs, including pre/post cardiac catheterization and surgery care
- Navy blue scrubs required
- No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius; local candidates not accepted
- Returning permanent BJC/Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Travelers with prior tenure must complete an 18-month period followed by a 3-month break in service before returning
